We are reporting on the situation in Cuba. Beginning 23 October, there has been an increase in the frequency of violations of Cuban airspace by American aircraft, along with their overflights of the island at various altitudes, to include altitudes of 150-200 meters. On 26 October alone, more than eleven such flights took place. Cuban ports are under constant surveillance by US ships and aviation.
At Guantanamo naval base, naval and ground forces are amassing; there are currently 37 ships there, including two aircraft carriers. By the evening of the 26th, the blockade encircling Cuba closed completely, passing along the Bahamas, the Leeward Antilles, and Lesser Antilles, and the Caribbean Sea. Our Cuban friends feel that an invasion and bombing of the military installations are inevitable.
