The Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation (SVR) claims to have information from its human intelligence sources on an upcoming effort by NATO leadership to see Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discredited and ousted from office based on a high-level disinformation campaign.
The information, which supposedly arrived at SVR Headquarters in late 2024, was published by the SVR on its website in early March 2025. It’s curious that something so piping hot and relatively fresh, and that essentially scratches a lot of Russian wishful-thinking tropes, would be made public, albeit to a relatively small audience (access to the information is restricted to a Russian audience, or those with Russia-friendly VPN access). When reading the “report,” one has to wonder whether or not it is a drop to cause concern and disruption in the early days of the Trump presidency, when much regarding continued military aid to Ukraine was very much in doubt. The final words in the report, reflecting Zelensky’s supposed diversion of free Western weapons to “radical African groups,” seems to have been written and placed strategically.
The translation of the material is provided below. We make no claims to its authenticity, other than verification that it was definitely published to a Russian Federation SVR website in early March, 2025. Bring a grain of salt for everything else.
